Crouch End Clock Tower

The Clock Tower, arguably Crouch End’s most iconic landmark, was built in 1894-5 to commemorate the leadership and efforts of Henry Reader Williams. Williams chaired the Local Board and was a key figure in managing the transition of Crouch End from a small village to a busy suburb.

As you zoom by the tower it is easy to miss the portrait medallion of Williams. This was designed by Sir Alfred Gilbert.
